Inmates can receive money from outside to fulfil their needs while serving time. However, they need to have an active commissary account for this transfer. Once the account is active, the prisoner may receive funds through check, cash, or money order. The Department advances public safety through it's fire prevention, investigation, and education programs. As First Responders to Fire and Public Safety Emergencies, Mountain Home fire department protects the lives and property of Mountain home residents and visitors. There is a permanent closure where hunting, shooting, and trapping is prohibited.
Guide service and rental horses are available at the pack station located near the Shake Camp Campground. Informational brochures with maps of one to two mile interpretive hikes and a motor tour are available at the forest headquarters. 13 semi-trailer rigs housed the mobile camp of inmates and staff members. The mobile and summer camps were used in the construction of the current Mountain Home Conservation Camp.

The closed area is clearly outlined on the State Forest brochure map that is available at the State Forest Headquarters off Bear Creek Road. It is the visitor’s responsibility to know the boundary of the closure. The Mountain Home Fire and Rescue is a nonprofit organization that operates off a fire protection tax base in Henderson County, North Carolina.
This campground area is becoming increasingly popular for day-users as it provides close access to the Tule River. Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest is located in Tulare County in the Southern Sierra Nevada range, 22 miles east of Porterville, California. Mountain Home has several of the largest and oldest giant sequoia trees in the world with some reaching 240 feet tall and 27 feet in diameter. In 1946, the State of California acted to conserve the huge redwoods on the Mountain Home tract that John Muir called "the finest in the Sierra," and purchased the land from a logging company. The result has been the preservation of more than 4,500 old-growth giant sequoias through active management of the mixed conifer forest that surrounds them.

Frasier Mill Campground has 49 campsites and one additional site for a camp host . The campsites are organized into five loops, each with vault toilets and water spigots. One of the campsites is ADA compliant and is available by reservation only. The campground is situated among several small creeks and is well shaded by a grove of large second-growth giant sequoia. Although this is the largest of the five campgrounds, it is not uncommon for it to be full on the weekends in the summer months. A parking area is available and will accommodate 8 to 16 vehicles.
Most staff are required to complete one summer as a SIT prior to becoming a regular staff member. Every year Fire Mountain Scout Camp completes the Boy Scouts of America National Camp Accreditation. Four campsites were recently constructed near the public corrals and are available for equestrian users only. Equestrian campers are required to register and pay for their site at the Shake Camp Campground. Hunting is permitted under applicable State game laws and regulations. Moses Gulch Campground has 10 campsites and one additional site for a camp host .
With housing construction beginning in 2003, the community began contracting fire protection services from nearby South County Fire Authority. Following the CSD Board of Directors vote, a new contract was granted to the French Camp McKinley Fire District. Reservations for Scout BSA Resident Camp open in August of each year and is an ongoing process as Patrol Leader Councils meet to discuss where the troop will attend camp, families plan their vacations and many more factors. In order to work effectively plan and execute the summer camp program we aim to have registrations for camp for the most part nailed down by mid May each spring. Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest

CAL FIRE resource management staff acted quickly to mitigate hazard trees, prepare for reforestation, protect the road system and limit erosion from winter storms. Straw bale dikes have been installed on watercourses above road crossings. Trees have been felled along roadsides to provide safe access and over approximately 800 acres to reduce soil erosion.
Shake Camp Campground has 15 campsites and one additional site for a camp host . Four of the campsites are located adjacent to public corrals near the main campground and are intended to be used exclusively for equestrian campers. There are three vault toilets in the main campground and two additional vault toilets near the corrals. The campground is immediately adjacent to a major trailhead into the Golden Trout Wilderness, and surrounded by trails on the State Forest.
However, make sure that you can provide complete information at the time of the contact. Before you can search for any inmate, you would be asked to share age, date of birth, inmate ID, full name, and other necessary data for verification. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks three ponds in the area with trout for public fishing.
Management activities are designed to demonstrate a variety of treatments that can be utilized by private and industrial timberland owners throughout the region. Mountain Home is also a place where new rules and regulations can be tested, and research can be conducted over the long-term. These inmates have been convicted under the law of California state and according to the listed penalty, inmates who are 18+ are serving time in the Mountain Home Adult Conservation Camp #10 for unforgivable crimes. The State Prison authority is responsible for looking after this facility. Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest is owned and operated by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, now commonly referred to as CALFIRE.
Mountain Home Conservation Camp provides extensive work for the Mountain Home State Forest, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (at Lake’s Kaweah and Success), the Tulare County Road Department, the Tulare County Office of Education, and School of Science and Conservation . Much of this work could not be done without the dedication of the incarcerated fire crews and the commitment of the CDCR/CAL FIRE camp staff.
