Shake Camp Campground has 15 campsites and one additional site for a camp host . Four of the campsites are located adjacent to public corrals near the main campground and are intended to be used exclusively for equestrian campers. There are three vault toilets in the main campground and two additional vault toilets near the corrals. The campground is immediately adjacent to a major trailhead into the Golden Trout Wilderness, and surrounded by trails on the State Forest.

You will attend Staff Development Week, and work 2-3 weeks during Scouts BSA Camp, you will also have the opportunity to work during Cub Scout Resident Camp. Fire Mountain plays host to many offseason users, such as Scouts BSA Troops, Cub Scouts events, Order of the Arrow events and leadership training programs like Woodbadge and NYLT. Currently, the Mountain House Fire Department is staffed with 5 personnel daily, along with a duty officer to oversee major incidents. The department still operates out of the same Tradition St station, which houses two type 1 engines, a ladder truck, and a type 6 wildland apparatus. Mountain House Fire is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment for more than 20,000 residents of the Mountain House Community Services District. We serve a 7.5 square mile area, 5 miles northwest of the City of Tracy, with bordering counties Alameda to the west and Contra Costa to the northwest.

The giant sequoia flourishes among ponderosa pine, sugar pine, white fir and incense-cedar. The local Native Americans used this area in the summer to camp, hunt and gather food. An interpretive exhibit at Sunset Point leads visitors through an archaeological site with evidence of occupation dating back 9,000 years.
The Department is charged with maintaining a forest that provides for true multiple-use. Primarily, the forest is to provide public recreation, sustainable timber harvesting, research, protection of wildlife and watershed values, as well as protecting the forest from insects, disease and fire. There is no electricity or water at this campground, although plans to provide running water are ongoing . The campground has two vault toilets, three fire rings, an amphitheater, and a barbecue pit. The group camp is situated adjacent to a meadow with many hiking trails in and around the camp. CDCR is responsible for the selection, supervision, care, and discipline of camp inmates.

CAL FIRE maintains the camp and supervises the work of the incarcerated fire crews. They are responsible for custody of the inmates while on their daily work projects and when they are on actual assignments during emergencies. CDCR staff may accompany the crews while on emergency assignments. CDCR has the primary responsibility to ensure that camp inmates receive direct supervision while in camp and on emergency assignments.
